Oooo baby Beth's Coming Today!

With my impending 41st birthday, I realized I have never told the story of my birth, as least as I "remember" it from my parents' telling. I decided to use Peter Frampton's "Baby I Love your Way" as the framework to tell my story. If you're not familiar with the song, please take a minute to listen to watch the video and read the lyrics. and then take a trip back with me, to March 9, 1969.

xoxo,
~B~

Lyrics | Frampton Peter lyrics - Baby, I Love Your Way lyrics

~>~>~>~><~<~<~<~

Wife started labor before my eyes
And too early, doc wrote across the page
Suddenly water breaks during the night

Far away from the hospital but don't hesitate
'Cause your kid won't wait hey

Ooh baby Beth is comin' our way
Wanna bring her safe and sound today
Gonna be be rough but we'll make it okay

Cab appears and we wave to the sky
Soldiers in back, with frightened eyes
Wonder if we'll get there in time time time
Don't birth in my cab, he whines

But don't hesitate 'cause our child won't wait hey
Ooh baby Beth is on her way, yeah today
But her due date's two months away
Wanna tell her it'll be okay yeah
But don't hesitate 'cause this girl, this girl won't wait

Dad paces with worry in his eyes
Then his wife is there, by his side
Points out the incubator, yes, she's that one
They'll call her "fighter" before the month is done

But don't hesitate, because our Beth, she wouldn't wait hey
Ooh baby weighs 3 pounds today, yeah today
Wanna know that she's here to stay
Wanna look back and laugh one day

Ooh she looks like a monkey today
Wanna watch her grow and be healthy yay
Wanna be with her night and day
